November Update!
The fence is done and the foundation bricks have been delivered as well. See picture for safe Island style brick stacking... they have been re-stacked by the way ;-)! For the past month we have been busy clearing old tree trunks and roots from foundation locations as well as from areas were trenches will need to be dug for the electricity and water pipes. If all goes well, construction will commence in a couple of weeks. We have so far been provided with all (but one) Ministerial Go aheads for the project!

New rates after relocation and the issue of distance?
Many visitors have expressed their concern over the past few months, that with our move to the beach, our rates would surely increase significantly.
This message is to assure all our former and future guests, that our rates have never been based on what can be charged for a product but what needs to be charged for a product in order to operate and maintain the facility! Indeed, there possibly may be an increase, but this will be marginal, depending on any increase in operating costs due to transportation (i.e. free international inbound airport pick up "with almost twice the distance") as well as trips to and from town!
By the way, we are planning in several convenient and low cost options for getting around on Tongatapu, so that the remote location of Ha'atafu Beach Reserve will never be an issue! More info on these will be available in early 2010!
Hope you enjoy the Blog!

Artist's 3D Impression
The First draft of the Artists 3D Impression is ready, note though that only the "already existing" trees and plants are actually included in the drawing at this point. The botanical gardens that are to be moved from the current location are proving to be a bit of a challenge to the artist!
The Road construction has now also begun and a post on this will follow shortly so please visit the blog again real soon!
